You change a submittal one detail at a time, right where it's shown. There's no separate edit page.
- Open the submittal.
- In the Overview, General Details, Delivery Details or Also on this record card, click the value you want to change. A pencil appears when you point at a value you can change.
- Change it:
- Dropdowns (spec section, type, submittal manager, responsible contractor, received from, location, schedule activity, submitted by, reviewer) save as soon as you pick a new value.
- Dates save a moment after you pick one from the calendar. If you type a date, it saves about a second after you stop typing. Press Enter to save it straight away.
- Title, Description, Lead time (days) and Cost code show Save and Cancel. Press Enter to save a one-line value, or Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac) to save the description.
- Press Esc or click Cancel to leave a field without changing it.

Once a submittal is closed
After a submittal is closed and distributed, its details are locked, except the three delivery dates: Anticipated delivery, Confirmed delivery and Actual delivery. Keep those up to date as the material arrives.
Good to know
- The submittal manager can't be cleared. You can choose a different manager, but every submittal must have one.
- The title can't be blank.
- Some values can't be changed here: the number, revision, trips through review, waiting on, returned date and attachments count. The status, stamp and workflow change through the workflow, sending and distributing.
- Each change is recorded on the submittal's History tab, with your name and the time.
- If a change can't be saved, the box stays open and says why underneath.
- Without Admin access to submittals, the values are plain text with nothing to click.
