Defaults save time when logging submittals. They pre-fill the Submittal manager and Final due date on the New submittal form, set whether people on a new workflow step start as required, and choose who distributions go to. People can still change them on each submittal.
Changing a default only affects submittals logged afterwards.
Set company defaults
- Go to Settings and open Module defaults.
- Find the Submittals card.
- Set:
- Submittal manager: the person pre-selected as manager on new submittals. They're only pre-selected on projects where they're in the project directory.
- Work days until due: how many work days after the submittal is logged its final due date should be. Leave it blank for no default.
- Approver response required by default: whether the required tick starts ticked for each person on a new workflow step.
- Distribution group: who a new project's default submittal recipients start as.
- Click Save submittal defaults.
Set defaults for one project
- Open the project and choose Admin in the sidebar.
- Under Module settings, find the Submittals card. It says whether the project is following the workspace defaults or overriding them.
- Set Submittal manager, Work days until due and/or Approver response required by default (Required, Optional, or the workspace default).
- Click Save submittal settings.
To go back to the company defaults, click Use workspace defaults.
Choose who distributions go to by default
Each project keeps a list of default submittal recipients. When anyone clicks Close & Distribute, these people and groups start ticked.
- Open the project and choose Admin in the sidebar.
- Find Default recipients and the Submittal row, then click Edit.
- Move people and groups between Available and Selected.
- Click Save Submittal.
When a project is created, this list starts from the Distribution group in the company's Submittals defaults.
How due dates are counted
Work days are counted on the project's calendar: its working week and, where it observes them, holidays.
