Access to the punch list comes from the roles people hold, at company level or on a project. In the roles screen, the area is called Punch list, with three levels.
The three levels
| Level | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read | See the punch list, open items, see photos and files, look in the recycle bin, export to CSV, and save personal views. |
| Write | Everything in Read, plus: raise and edit items, comment, add and delete photos and files, submit items for review, publish, cancel and reopen the items you raised, email items, delete items to the recycle bin, and restore them. |
| Admin | Everything in Write, plus: mark items complete, send them back, see every Draft, publish, cancel and reopen any item, and permanently delete items from the recycle bin. |
Standard roles
| Role | Punch list access |
|---|---|
| Internal - Super Admin | Admin |
| Internal - Project Admin | Admin |
| Internal - Project Manager | Write |
| Internal - Superintendent | Write |
| Internal - Field Engineer | Write |
| External - Subcontractor | Write |
| Internal - Read Only | Read |
| External - Owners Rep | Read |
| External - Architect, External - Engineer, Internal - Organization Admin, Internal - Directory Read | None |
Your company may have changed these, or added its own roles.
Important
By default, Project Managers and Superintendents can't mark punch items complete or send them back; only Project Admins and Super Admins can. If your project managers sign off punch items, give them a role with Admin on the punch list.
What people without access see
- With no punch list access, Punch List doesn't appear in the project sidebar.
- With Read only, New punch item is greyed out and the Edit, Email, Add and Delete buttons aren't shown.
- With Write but not Admin, the Mark complete and Send back buttons are hidden, and so are other people's Drafts.
