Most RFIs can be seen by everyone on the project with access to RFIs. A private RFI can be seen only by:
- RFI admins,
- the RFI's manager,
- the people on its Assignees (To) and Distribution list (CC) lines, including the members of any group on them,
- the person who raised it.
Nobody else can see it at all: it isn't on their RFI list, in the counts, or in their PDF reports and exports. The Received from person can't see it unless they're also on one of those lists.
Make an RFI private when you raise it
Tick Private on the Raise an RFI form.
Make an existing RFI private or public
- Open the RFI.
- Click More at the top of the page.
- Click Make private (or Make public to open it up again).
A private RFI shows a Private badge next to its title. Each change is recorded on the RFI's History tab as Made private or Made public.
Good to know
- To let someone else see a private RFI, add them to its To or CC line.
- The RFI list doesn't mark which RFIs are private. Open one to check for the Private badge.
